Frequently asked

Where do these prices come from?

From 22 real weekly scans of the booking funnel across 2026. Every hotel with a price tag returned a bookable rate; we show the observed nightly price, not a live quote.

Can I book here?

The gold button opens the IMPT search with the hotel pre-selected; there you see live availability and price and complete the booking.

Why isn't every hotel in Georgia listed?

We list only hotels that returned a bookable rate in our latest supplier check (November 2026 dates). Hotels without a current rate stay off these lists until a later check finds one; we re-check every week.

Do prices include taxes?

They are the nightly prices the booking funnel returned in each scan, in US dollars. The final total with taxes and fees is confirmed at booking.

When is it cheapest?

Tbilisi and Kutaisi are cheapest in the spring and autumn shoulder seasons. Batumi and the coast peak in July-August; Gudauri and Bakuriani peak in the December-February ski season.

How to choose a hotel in Georgia

Where you sleep in Georgia decides more of the trip than the hotel star rating does. The country is small on the map but the roads are slow, so a hotel 40 km from the sight you came for can cost you two hours of daylight in each direction. A simple rule works almost everywhere: pick the region first, then the town, then the hotel. For a first week that usually means Tbilisi, one mountain base such as Kazbegi or Svaneti, and one wine base in Kakheti — Telavi or Sighnaghi.

Tbilisi is the only place in the country with a genuine choice at every level, from a US$24 guesthouse bed to five-star towers with pools. Batumi is the coast: high season runs from late June to the end of August, when prices double and the boulevard fills, while May, June and September are far better value. Kutaisi is the cheap flight gateway and a good base for caves, canyons and the monasteries around Imereti. Kazbegi (Step'antsminda) and Gudauri take the mountain trade — Gudauri is a ski station at about 2,200 m and quietest in July and August, when it becomes a hiking base. Svaneti, with Mestia as its hub, is the long haul: a flight or a train to Zugdidi and then three or more hours on the road. Kakheti's towns are one to two hours from Tbilisi and mostly year-round. Borjomi and Tsqaltubo keep the old spa trade, and on the Black Sea, Kobuleti, Makhinjauri and Ureki are the family and budget choices behind Batumi.

What a night costs in 2026

The cheapest observed rate on this page is US$22 per night, in Kutaisi and in Lagodekhi; the highest is US$346 in Tbilisi, for a medical wellness resort. Those two figures tell you most of what you need to know: in Georgia the spread inside one city is far wider than the spread between cities. Our 2026 scans covered 371 hotels with a bookable rate, and the median sits in the twenties and thirties of dollars for guesthouses and simple three-star rooms, and roughly US$90 to US$190 for four- and five-star properties in Tbilisi and on the coast.

For reference, the city from-prices on this page: Tbilisi from US$24 across 220 hotels, Batumi from US$24 across 65, Kutaisi from US$22 across 22, Step'antsminda from US$51 across 14, Borjomi from US$39 across 8, Telavi from US$75 across 6, Kobuleti from US$35 across 6 and Gori from US$54 across 4. Small towns are the exception to the rule that small means cheap: Ambrolauri from US$174, Tsalka from US$230 and Tsinandali from US$79 each have only one listed hotel, so there is no competition to pull the price down. If your dates are flexible, the difference between a July weekend on the coast and a Tuesday in May is often bigger than the difference between a three-star and a four-star room.

When to book, and when to avoid

June, September and early October are the sweet spot: warm days, working roads, vineyards either green or being picked, and hotels that have not yet reached their August prices. July and August belong to Batumi, Kobuleti and Ureki; if you want the sea then, book weeks ahead, especially for weekends, when Tbilisi families arrive. December to March is ski season in Gudauri and Bakuriani and the cheapest time in the cities — Tbilisi in February is quiet, cold and good value, though mountain roads can close for a day or two at a time. April and November are the shoulder months: fewer visitors, but the weather is a gamble in the mountains.

Two practical notes on booking. First, guesthouses and small hotels often answer messages in English within a day and will hold a room for you directly, but our prices are not live quotes — always confirm the rate at the moment of booking. Second, breakfast is not a given: in guesthouses it is usually included and worth taking, in city hotels it is sometimes an extra US$8 to US$12 per person, and near the coast half-board is often the only sensible option because restaurants thin out after September.
