I did not encounter any problems at the hotel where I stayed for four days on my own. The location is very close to the city center, you can find most things you are looking for on foot. At the reception, young and intelligent friends, especially Levan Bey, George, Shota and Nika, were very helpful in every way, it is a reliable hotel that makes you feel comfortable.Thank you for not making me feel like a stranger.
Perfect location near boulevard, you won't have a view on the sea tho. The breakfast is delicious, only beds need improvement, at least mine, it was hard like a rock.

Planning your trip to Batumi
When to go
Batumi runs on the sea season. Swimming is realistic from about mid-June to late September, and the water is warmest in August and early September, when the whole coast is full and every seafront table is taken. Outside that window the beach is for walking, not bathing, and the pebbles are cold underfoot even on a bright March afternoon.
Late May, early June and October are the sweet spots: warm days, a half-empty promenade, lower rates. The caveat is rain. Batumi is the wettest city in Georgia and autumn brings genuine downpours that can flood a street for an hour at a time. Pack a jacket in any month.
July and August are loud, crowded and expensive. The boulevard becomes a slow river of people after dark, the ferris wheel and fountains draw queues, and weekend traffic on the coast road towards Gonio crawls. If those are your dates, treat the room as the thing you fix first.
Winter is cheap and strangely calm. Seasonal restaurants and beach bars are shuttered, but the old town, the covered market and the casino hotels keep working. Snow-seekers head inland to Goderdzi in Adjara, where the mountain road can close for days after heavy weather.
Getting there and around
The train from Tbilisi is the civilised option: roughly five to five and a half hours on the fast double-decker. It ends at Batumi Central, which is actually in Makhinjauri, five or six kilometres north of the centre; buses and taxis wait outside, and the ride into town is a single-digit to low double-digit lari fare.
Batumi International Airport sits at Adlia, six kilometres south, ten to fifteen minutes by taxi and served by a city bus. Its schedule is seasonal and thins in winter, so Kutaisi is the usual fallback, about two hours away by bus. Marshrutkas from Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Zugdidi cost less than the train and take longer.
In town you mostly walk. The old town, the boulevard and Europe Square sit within a fifteen-minute radius of each other. City buses take a rechargeable card and cost about a lari; ride-hailing apps work well, and short crossings of the centre usually land in the five-to-ten lari range.
For day trips, minibuses run constantly to Gonio, Kvariati and the Turkish border at Sarpi in one direction, and to Makhinjauri, Green Cape and Chakvi in the other. The botanical garden is twenty minutes north. Bikes work on the flat boulevard; the coast highway does not suit casual cycling.
Where to stay, zone by zone
Old Batumi is the obvious first choice. The grid of low nineteenth-century houses around Europe Square and the Piazza puts you walking distance from the sea, the market and the bars, with character the towers lack. The trade-off is noise: summer nights here are late and musical, so ask for a courtyard room.
The seafront and the New Boulevard are where the glass high-rises stand. Many are apart-hotels or privately let flats in the same building, so service varies floor by floor. You get views, pools and space for the money, plus a twenty-to-thirty-minute walk back to the old town and, in places, construction next door.
Inland streets in the Bagrationi and Khimshiashvili districts are the value option: ordinary residential Batumi, guesthouses and small hotels, ten to fifteen minutes on foot from the water. Nothing scenic, everything practical, and shops and bakeries noticeably cheaper than on the front.
Outside the city, Gonio and Kvariati have cleaner water, a quieter beach and Gonio fortress, but they empty out from October. North, Makhinjauri, Green Cape and Chakvi trade nightlife for tea plantations, forest and the botanical garden, with trains and frequent minibuses into town.
Eating and going out
Eat the Adjarian khachapuri here, in the region that invented it: a boat of bread with cheese, butter and an egg, usually from the mid-teens of lari upward and easily enough for two at lunch. Look also for borano, sinori and kaymaki, dairy cooking you will not meet in Tbilisi. Khinkali run a couple of lari each.
The fish market by the port is the local ritual: pick your fish from the counters, pay by the kilo, and hand it to one of the kitchens behind to be grilled while you sit down with bread, salad and a beer. Noisy, cheap by seaside standards, reliably good in season.
Nightlife concentrates in the old town bars and along the boulevard, with the casino hotels running their own late crowd. In July and August it goes until dawn; in January half of it is closed and the rest shuts by eleven. Wine by the glass is roughly eight to fifteen lari, chacha less and stronger.
For self-catering, the covered central market sells cheese, Chakvi tea, spices, fruit and pickles, and nearby bakeries turn out bread all day. Supermarkets in the residential districts undercut the boulevard minimarkets, which price for tourists in a hurry.

Treat both as an order of magnitude: the same room can double between a rainy Tuesday in March and mid-August.
For peak summer, book two to three months ahead, especially for pools, family rooms or a genuine sea view. In the shoulder months you can arrive with one night booked and decide on the ground. In winter, choose from the shorter list of places that stay open and heat properly.
Read what you are actually getting. Sea view can mean a diagonal sliver between two towers; central can mean the New Boulevard; apart-hotel can mean a flat with no reception after six. Check the floor and the lift, air conditioning in summer, heating in winter, and whether breakfast is real.
Confirm cancellation terms before paying in advance, since summer rates are often non-refundable and the weather here rearranges beach holidays. Carry a passport for check-in, keep small lari for buses and the market, and message the property directly if you arrive late off the train.
