Rooms and rates

Holiday Borjomi did not surface a bookable rate in our 22-week 2026 scan, so we do not publish a guide price for it. That says nothing about the hotel itself — inventory comes and goes — and the widget below checks your exact dates in seconds. As with most hotels in Borjomi, midweek nights tend to come in cheaper than weekends, and booking two or more weeks ahead widens the choice of rooms with free cancellation. The price you see after tapping “Check availability” is the live app.impt.io rate for your exact dates, not an estimate.

Location

Holiday Borjomi is at Vashlovani St, Borjomi, Georgia. That puts it about 5 km from the centre of Borjomi's hotel district, based on the coordinates in our scans. The nearest city with a bigger hotel scene is Bakuriani, about 12 km away — compare Bakuriani hotels too if your plans are flexible. This page's “View on map” link opens the exact spot in Google Maps, so you can measure the journeys that matter to you.

The facilities, in detail

For food and drink, the hotel lists breakfast, coffee and restaurant(s). Practical services include 24 hour front desk, car parking, free car parking, laundry service, luggage storage and meeting room. In the room itself: free wifi and tv. The full list of 26 facilities is below; double-check the ones that are deal-breakers when you book, as hotels adjust what they offer by season.

Good to know before you book

The booking flow is three steps: dates and guests in this page's widget, the live price on app.impt.io, and instant confirmation. Most rooms are offered with free cancellation until a few days before arrival — the exact deadline is shown next to each rate before you pay. Every confirmed booking also removes a tonne of CO₂ through IMPT's carbon-removal projects, at no extra cost to you. When comparing, note that the four-star rating reflects the hotel's declared standard rather than a guest score. Prices on this page are shown in US dollars, converted from the euro rates our scans observed; the exact total for your stay, including any taxes and fees, is confirmed in the booking funnel before you pay.

Where our data comes from

Through 2026 we ran 22 weekly scan rounds against the live IMPT booking funnel, probing one-night stays across the coming weeks for every hotel in this guide. Holiday Borjomi did not return a bookable rate in any round — for the live picture, run the widget above for your dates. Prices you see here are per-night room rates converted to US dollars at the single euro rate used across this site; they are a planning aid, not a quote.

Borjomi for hotel guests

Most visitors stay one or two nights — a walk through the Central Park, the cable car up to the plateau, a sulphur bath, then a day out to Vardzia or the national park. Beds range from Soviet sanatoria reborn as spa hotels to small family guesthouses on the slope. In our 2026 scans of 32 properties, rooms started around US$33 a night and the typical hotel from-price sat near US$78. All hotels in Borjomi →

Planning your trip to Borjomi

When to go

July and August are Borjomi's real season. Tbilisi bakes, half the capital comes up the gorge for cool air and a walk among the springs, and rooms near the park entrance fill early. The town sits at roughly 800 metres, so evenings are genuinely pleasant. Book weeks ahead for those two months, especially Friday and Saturday nights.

Late May to June and September into mid-October are the better trade. The forest on the Likani side looks its best, the cable car has no queue, day trips to Vardzia or Akhaltsikhe are comfortable rather than sweaty, and prices ease. October brings colour to the gorge, but nights drop fast — bring a layer even after a warm afternoon.

Winter is a different town. Skiers bound for Bakuriani, 30 km up the switchbacks, often sleep cheaper in Borjomi, and the New Year holidays plus January weekends push demand well above what a quiet spa town suggests. Midweek it is calm and half-shuttered: some park cafés close and the cable car pauses in bad weather.

Two caveats worth planning around. April and November are wet, and the gorge holds cloud for days, so keep indoor options. And the Goderdzi pass towards Adjara is effectively shut from November to April — Borjomi to Batumi over the mountains is a summer-only idea, and even then a rough one.

Getting there and around

Marshrutkas leave Tbilisi's Didube station through the day and take about three hours for roughly 10-15 GEL. They set down centrally, near the market and the main street, which is where most of the town's beds are anyway. Returning, buy ahead in summer; afternoon departures fill.

The train is the nicer arrival. A daily service from Tbilisi reaches Borjomi in around four hours for a few lari, finishing at Borjomi Parki station a short walk from the park gates. Coming from Batumi or Kutaisi, the standard move is to change at Khashuri, half an hour down the valley.

From Borjomi Parki the narrow-gauge Kukushka line crawls up to Bakuriani in about two and a half hours over the Tsagveri viaduct. It is a lovely ride, but the service has been suspended for repairs more than once — confirm locally. Marshrutkas and taxis cover the same road in under an hour.

Borjomi itself walks end to end in half an hour along the Mtkvari. Taxis inside town cost a few lari; Likani is fine on foot in daylight and worth a car after dinner. Rent or hire a driver only if you want the national park trailheads, the Green Monastery or Timotesubani.

Where to stay, zone by zone

The centre — Rustaveli and 9 April streets, the stretch between the market and the park entrance — is where most visitors should be. Everything is walkable: springs, cable car, bakeries, bus stand, station. The compromise is an ordinary main road with traffic noise, and buildings that vary wildly from one door to the next.

Likani, west along the river, is the quiet green option: sanatorium architecture, the Romanov palace grounds, forest immediately behind, and one of the national park entrances. It suits walkers and readers rather than people who want to wander out for late khinkali. Budget twenty-five minutes on foot or a short taxi each way.

Above town, Sadgeri and the hillside lanes buy pine air and gorge views for less, at the cost of gradients, stairs and a car after dark. Further up the Bakuriani road, Tsagveri and Daba are village stays — cheap, cold in winter, and only logical if you are driving or skiing.

Across the 32 properties in our 2026 scans, from-prices began near US$33 and the typical figure was around US$78. The bottom end means simple guesthouse rooms; the middle is where the spa hotels near the park sit. Renovation quality differs enormously between neighbours, so read recent reviews rather than star categories.

Eating and going out

Borjomi is not a food destination and nobody should pretend otherwise. What it has is a run of solid Georgian kitchens near the park entrance and along the main street: khinkali, ojakhuri, mtsvadi and trout from the gorge farms. Khinkali cost roughly 1.5-2.5 GEL each, and two people eat well for 50-70 GEL.

Meskhetian cooking appears if you ask for it — wood-oven bread, plenty of dairy, mushrooms and greens in season. Enquire about the day's dish instead of reading down the laminated menu; the kitchen usually has something not printed on it.

Wine arrives from Kakheti and Kartli by the jug rather than growing locally, so house red is cheap and unpredictable. The genuinely local drinks are the mineral water, free and warm from the spring inside the park, and the fruit lemonades bottled in the region.

Evenings end early. A few central bars run past eleven in summer, almost nothing does in February, and hotel restaurants become the default. If a late night out matters, that argues for the centre over Likani, and for sitting down to dinner before nine rather than after.

Booking well

Stock is small — our 2026 scans covered 32 hotels — and scarcity matters more here than headline price. In August, over New Year and on ski weekends the good central rooms go first and the remainder is poor value. Book a month ahead for peak dates; a few days is plenty in May or October.

Read the word spa carefully. For some properties it means a warm pool and sauna, for others sulphur bathing tied to the town's water, and occasionally nothing at all. If treatments are the point of the trip, confirm what is included, what costs extra, and whether the facility opens in your season.

Ask older buildings two questions: heating and hot water. Several Borjomi hotels are converted sanatoria, handsome outside and uneven within. Check the real walking distance to the park gate too — in a town built on a slope, near the centre can mean a steep uphill kilometre with luggage.

Take a flexible rate in winter. Snow on the Bakuriani switchbacks and days of cloud in the gorge rearrange plans at short notice, and free cancellation costs little at these price levels. Drivers should confirm parking: central streets are narrow and many guesthouses have space for one car, not three.
